Basketbal

Basketball is a team sport involving two teams of five players each, played on a rectangular court. The objective is to score points by shooting a ball through the opposing team’s hoop, which is elevated 10 feet above the ground. Teams can score in two ways: through field goals, worth two points or three points depending on the distance from the hoop, and free throws, worth one point each, awarded after certain fouls.

The game is played in four quarters, and the team with the most points at the end wins. Players advance the ball by dribbling or passing and must follow rules such as the shot clock and personal fouls. Basketball emphasizes skills like shooting, dribbling, passing, and defensive strategies. It is governed by a set of rules, known as the Official Basketball Rules, and is a popular sport worldwide, played at various levels ranging from casual pickup games to professional leagues like the NBA.
