North Korea

North Korea, officially known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), is a country located in East Asia, occupying the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. It shares borders with South Korea to the south, China to the northwest, and Russia to the northeast. The capital and largest city is Pyongyang. North Korea is known for its centralized government led by the Workers’ Party of Korea, with a strong emphasis on nationalism and a unique ideology called Juche, which promotes self-reliance.

The country is characterized by a single-party state with a command economy, significant military presence, and strict government control over many aspects of life, including the media, education, and public expression. North Korea has been the subject of international attention and concern due to its human rights record, nuclear weapons program, and periodic tensions with other countries, especially South Korea and the United States. The regime maintains tight control over its population and has a significant cult of personality surrounding its leaders, particularly the ruling Kim family.
